Consultants:
Dr Prebashini Naidoo, MBChB (Natal,1997 ), FCPath(SA, 2004). She graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand and undertook her specialist registrar training in Chemical Pathology at King Edward VIII & IALCH /UKZN. Dr Naidoo has been employed as a Consultant Chemical Pathologist at IALCH since 2007.
Dr Prisha Naidoo, MBChB (Natal), FCPath(SA). She graduated from the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine in 2003. She served as a specialist registrar in the Department of Chemical Pathology – UKZN from 2006 to 2010 and completed her FCPath Examination in October 2010. Since January 2011, Dr Naidoo has been working as a Consultant in the Department of Chemical Pathology at IALCH-NHLS.
Dr Ravindra Sirkar, MBChB (Natal,1997 ), FCPath(SA, 2005). He graduated from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and undertook his specialist registrar training in Chemical Pathology at King Edward VIII & IALCH /UKZN. Dr Sirkar has been employed as a Consultant Chemical Pathologist at IALCH since 2005 currently based in the Pietermaritzburg Complex of Laboratories (GEN Complex)
Medical Scientist:
Mr Mohamed Warsally, B Med Sci (Hon), MMedSci. He completed his degree in Chemical Pathology and graduated cum laude from University of Kwazulu Natal. Mr Warsally joined our department in 2007. His main scientific interests include chromatography and molecular biology. Currently he is undertaking PhD at UKZN.
Registrars:
Dr Michelle Blom, MBChB. She graduated from the University of the Free State in 2008. After completing her intership at McCord Hospital(KZN) and community service at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital (KZN). After which, she spent 3 years at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital (KZN)as an MO. In 2012 she obtained a diploma in Anaestetics (CMSA). Dr Blom joined the specialist registrar training progemmme at IALCH-NHLS in January 2015.
Dr Yashna Rampursat, MBChB. She graduated cum laude from the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine in 2007. After completeing her internship at King Edward Hospital and community service at Stanger Hospital she joined the specialist registrar training progemmme at IALCH-NHLS in February 2011. Her interests are endocrinology and paediatrics.
Dr Nareshni Pillay, MBChB. She graduated from the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine in 2008. After completeing her internship at Pietermaritzburg Hospital Compex and community service at Ladysmith Hospital, she joined the specialist registrar training progemmme at IALCH-NHLS in August 2012.
Dr Unathi Ngxamngxa, MBChB. She graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2006. After completing her internship at King Edward VIII hospital (Durban), and community service at Nelson Mandela Hospital in Mthatha, she worked there as a medical officer. She joined the specialist registrar training programme in March 2013.
